The five minute indexes are slim and the triangular index is featured just inside the chapter ring – characteristics that nod to the more traditional IWC watch designs. The classic timepiece is equipped with the in-house manufactured 52110 calibre which provides a 7-day power reserve that can be referenced at the 3 o’clock location on a neat and precise scale. The movement is not only encased inside a rugged 46mm stainless steel case, but also a soft-iron inner casing which protects against magnetic fields. IWC watches are equipped with an anti reflective and scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass front for protection. The harmonious layout of the IWC Big Pilot’s dial mimics the look of the 1940’s pilot watches, with a date aperture featured at 6 o’clock.
